ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: How to Improve Dogs Digestive System
5 ways to improve your dogs gut health.
Number 1 is to add probiotics to your dogs diet.
Probiotics are beneficial bacteria helping to maintain balance in your dogs body and so it’s important that your dog has enough of them to balance the bad bacteria and keep things stable.
If your dogs digestive system is unstable i.e. your dog has a delicate stomach, gas, belching, diarrhea, yeast outbreaks or skin allergies, the first thing to do is introduce your dog to probiotics.
There are many brands available and by far the best one I’ve researched over the years is Pet Ultimates Probiotics for dogs.
For Dogs up to 50lbs: give 1 scoop daily added to food and for Dogs over 50lbs: give 2 scoops daily added to food.
And I’ll leave a link to it in the description above.
NUMBER 2 is to give your dog some bone broth. Your dog may have poor gut health from undigested food particles and toxins entering the bloodstream through tiny holes in the intestinal wall.
The gelatin in Bone broth will boost your dogs health by working to heal the gaps in the gastrointestinal lining.
For our dogs it also has many uses to aid recovery, prevent illness and boost your dogs immune system.
It’s great for healing dogs with digestive issues such as IBD, IBS, Leaky gut or other gut related health issues and packed with vitamins, minerals and gelatin.
And I’ll leave a link to another video on how to make bone broth in the description above, also a ready made bone broth optiona; product link above.
NUMBER 3 is to cut back on medications. Drugs impact gut health and the more your dog gets the worse their gut health will be.
If you do use antibiotics, make sure to give a quality probiotic at the same time and then continue the probiotics.
NSAIDS can even contribute to the condition of leaky gut syndrome so my recommendation for pain control is to use CBD oil which also helps to boost your dogs immune system with many beneficial side effects, link above.
NUMBER 4 is keeping the grains in your dogs diet to a minimum. Grains do lead to inflammation in the gut and this may be a big factor in your dogs gut health issues.
NUMBER 5 leads on from number 4 by adding more variety to your dogs diet. Feeding your dog a kibble only diet every single day for years on end will mean an inflamed gastrointestinal tract and some of the health conditions previously mentioned.
The Healthier Kibble Diet helps kibble feeding dog owners reclaim their dogs gut health, along with other health issues that include allergies, blocked anal glands, diarrhea, yeast infections, ear infections, skin and coat problems, hot spots, arthritis and poor digestion or sensitive tummies. ❤Thank you very much for this important info.
Very appreciated! ❤
I am looking for natural foods to feed my dog that has probiotics in it I’m not looking to buy someone’s pill
This video is extremely helpful. Thank you very much for posting this and for being so honest about these tips to help our fur babies.
ok so if you don’t use any kibble what do you suggest for their teeth if you are always feeding soft food
Is apple cider vinegar okay to give your dog for gut health
Hello Doctor,
Thanks for your content! My wife and I have a 14 month old Corgi who has had diarrhea since we got him at 3 months.
He has a history pancreatitis, has had giardia 2x, and tapeworms even. I feel like nothing we do keeps him healthy.
He is currently on the royal canine low fat and fortiflora probiotic, and was treated for giardia and the tape worms and his poop’s quality seemed to be improving ( inconsistently he was starting to produce some more solid stools ). and his blood work came back clean. Now he has gone back to constant soft stools, i suspect maybe he is reinfected with giardia again? not sure.
Also he had clostridium in mid September, and developed a 106 fever and lethargy our vet recommended we do x-ray and ultrasound to see if anything else was going and all is well with his organs (besides mild pancreatitis)
Anyways, sorry for the lengthy comment. Do you think there’s something more going on here? What can we do to help prevent giardia and tape worms in the future? and what can I do to improve his gut health?
Hello Dan, i recently changed my dogs food suddenly to Badlands Ranch all natural food. Hes had it before but i ran out and was feeding him his usual home made food. I got a bag if the Badlands food, which i hadn’t given him for 3 weeks and i fed him some, fed my other dog too.Long story short, 2 days later I rushed him to the ER because he could not stand up on his hind legs, his stomach was a bit distended and he was moaning. $1500 dollars later(thank God for credit cards) they sent him home with a probiotic and gabapentin. When we left he was still weak but able to stand and walk a little. His extays and blood work came back normal. They said the believe it may be a neurological problem because he had sensitivity on the right side of his neck. The next day at 3 am i checked him and he couldn’t stand AT ALL. I rushed him back to the ER. $500 later they said he would need to spend the night and they would have Neurology do some mri scans on his brain. To see if he had a tumor or something else. That would run $6000-$8000 dollars! I told them im on social security I cant afford that and besides if they did that and found a tumor, my dogs 16 and i wouldn’t subject him to an operation. Long story short, then take him home snd continue giving him the Omeprazole, hydrocodone and gabapentin for pain. With no hopes of him getting better. Yesterday, i only gave him bone broth, his meds, and some Pedialyte throughout the day. Last night i awoke at 3 am, he was not in his bed. I checked the bathroom and he had a decent bowel movement. He had gotten up and walked to the bathroom and living room and was asleep by his bowl. I gave him some broth and put him to bed. Today, he walked a few times before collapsing from exhaustion. I gave him some of his home made food, pureed. He ate most of it the first time. Later on i gave him some more pureed food, again he ate half. Soon after, stomach was distended, he could not stand and he was moaning. When he did stand and walk he was limping from both rear legs, look more like a hip problem.
Neurological my B-UTT!
This a gut thing. Im going to try some of what you’ve suggested here. I haven’t cried this much in years! Im praying my lil Yorkie gets better. I’m also massaging his legs and back.
YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN BONE BROTH, USING ALL KINDS OF BONES. THERE’S MANY YOUTUBE VIDEOS FOR BONE BROTH RECIPES.
AVOID ADDING SALT, IF YOU’RE MAKING IT FOR YOUR DOG.
Any probiotics? Human ingested too?
Thanks a lot sir actually my Dog recently came out from the parvo virus and actually her Digestion is very week so, thanks a lot for this sir… 🙏
But what’s a good kibble?
how much bone broth do you recommend? What recommendations for healthy kibble? My 6 mo old puppy is experiencing issues right now. they gave me a probiotic and science diet/ID to see, I am really thinking of making my own but there are times we need the convenience
What will I do to help digest the bones that my dog ate? 🥺 I’m afraid it can cause serious illness to my dog.
❤thank you !
Can you buy organic bone broth instead of the powder?
We give our dogs kefir with added D3+K2 3 times a week they also get CBD oil on alternative days. Their diet consits of beef, chicken, cod and hadock and occasionally tined salmon or tuna. All meals are served up with pre cooked basmati rice with added coconut oil and it’s always servrd from the fridge as once rice has been cooked and put in the fridge it no longer becomes a corbohydrate starch based food but becomes feed for the good bacteria without the starch. They also get Coq10 5 times a week as one of the dogs suffers from epilepsy and a mild heart condition, she gets medication for the epilepsy but we didn’t take the vets advice to put her on heart medication as well as i understand too many big pharma drugs can do more damage long term than good so we chose the epilepsy treatment over the heart medication because without epilepsy treatment she will have a fit every day and sometimes upto 3 times a day. She is 8 years old and was born with tooth displacia (no enamel) , when she was six years old we had 28 of her 42 teeth removed because we understand bad teeth can create poor health. Over the last 2 years at least 8 of her teeth have started to grow back and the vet is amazed. I had to explain to the vet that this is all down to the K2 + D3 in her diet as it diverets any excess calcium in the diet to the teeth. Both my wife and I have stopped smoking since 2018 and become vegetarians, and over the last 2 years and I myself started looking into comming off high blood pressure medication and statins for high cholesterol which i take alternative natural remedies and its worked , i was also diagnosed in 2021 with an underactive thyroid and my doctor wanted to put me on medication but I have cured this by taking iodine derived from sea kelp and its worked. I was also diagnosed with a very large benign prostate condition and have also managed to reverse my PSA results using alternative home remedies and now i can urinate with better pressure than I had 20 years ago. I have become a great believer in alternative natural remedies rather than take big pharma drugs that come with nasty side effects. I’ve even managed to reverse my liver spots which i suffered with for the last 4 years. Im 66 and other than a deteriorating spine condition I’m in better physical condition than I’ve been for the last 20 years. I am currently experimenting on myself using alternative healthy no side effects home remedies to hopefully regenarate my spine discs and i think its working because i have gone from a wheelchair to crutches to a walking stick which I only have to use on certain days probably 50% of the time. This has allowed me to get my motorcycle back on the road this summer because I’ve not riden my motorcycle for 10 years because of my spine condition. My doctor’s had me on Tramadol, pregablin and antidepressants ever since my back surgery in 2016 but I no longer take any if them. By the way i replaced my antidepressants with P-5-P or B6 which I would advise anyone to try as it has given me back that positive outlook and a zest for life which is very beneficial. Its heen an absolute learning curve for me and all this research into alternative treatments started with the first lockdown. My first battle was my weight which took me 6 months to get from 20 stone down to a steady 13 stone. Since then i have reserched many things and everything i have done has had a positive effect on my life and my dogs. Happy days.
I’m giving my dog antioxidant treats from Nzymes.com. She is on day 40 taking these I’m trying to control her gi tract before it gets out of hand. She starting to get bumps and shed a lot. So I want to control the situation before it gets out of hand. Would u said I should stop giving those antioxidant treats and order something different?

Hi..In November 2022, my dog contracted an enterovirus. He was sick for about 5 days. Then he slowly recovered. I couldn’t take him to the vet because he was generally aggressive and I treated him at home. He didn’t eat food of course. He only drank a lot of water. I also took medicine that was dissolved in water. (Regidron). And I also dissolved a charcoal tablet in water. He recovered. I wonder if the dog has immunity after being infected with this virus?
I have been dealing with diarrhea with a dog for close to a year now. Spent lots of money on vets, blood tests, etc. At one point, he lost so much weight that he was down to skin and bones and I thought I might lose him. Before this, he was a picture of health and had beautiful muscles (a very active Border Collie), which he lost and has not yet been able to build back up. I have tried everything including most of the things you listed. At times, I would get good poops and think "Oh, YAY!" Then a day or two or three later, the bad diarrhea was back again. A few times, it would be better for a week or more and he would gain three to five pounds (HOORAY!), only to go back to cow pies or bad diarrhea again. This has been such a strain on me and my pocket book. I am nearly 80 now and have been raising dogs for 60+ years with never a problem so bad as this! I made some bone broth recently (beef) which really knocked him back again. I think he is allergic to beef. I just ordered some of the chicken bone broth which you recommended. He has been on CBD oil, both good pro- and pre-biotics, good kibble, and some other digestive supplements off and on (whatever seemed to work!). I ordered your e-book and am still hopeful that I can get this under control once and for all. (I raised him from the litter and he just turned 8 and is a very remarkable dog!). Thanks for your video.
Hello, thankyou for your great informative videos. We have an 11 year old rottweiler cross akita. In the last year we have noticed he was more prone to upset stomach.
We have changed to hypoallergenic kibble which has really helped and given him solid stools.
I put apple cider vinger in his water and also give him a couple drops of oregano oil that you recommended from a previous video.
Still every now and again he gets loud gurgling stomach in the mornings accompanied by gas later on… can you recommend anything else to help? Im going to order the probiotics you stated aswell
The whole bone broth myth has been scientifically DISproven
I can’t discuss any stomach or gut issues with our vet. They just shrug it off. Don’t even try to ask about anything holistic. Omg so here I am listening to this video. I do probiotics but never added prebiotics. Interesting
Excellent suggestions! TY!❤❤❤
Thanks for your information I’m trying to learn all I can about the digestive system my dog Bigfoot he bloats up every time he eats and my vet can’t tell me what is going on with him it’s so disheartening my dog Bigfoot is 14 years old and cannot walk anymore due to a slipped disc and pinched nerve he also has cancer
Dog “gut health”😂 They have concentrated acid in their digestive tract that can turn bones into jelly. Here are 5 things that contribute to robust bacteria in your dog’s gut.
1) Cat sh*t
2) Something dead they find on a walk
3) meat from the fridge that is going bad
4)sticks
5) Another dog’s sh*t
Any suggestions on the best CBD oil to go along with the diet changes in the prebiotics and probiotics
I have a yorkshire terrier, thats about 4lbs. The vet thinks she has PLE . We have to take her back to the vet for an IV and more test. Do you recomend the pro biotics and bone broth inthis case as well?
There is no such thing as a healthy kibble diet, because of what is put in it, because of the many recalls from some of the most famous for toxins that are making dogs sick or killing them, and also in the processing and the fact that they add supplements sprayed on or put into that cakey type of biscuit type formula, dogs will not absorb a sprayed on vitamin supplement like they will good food.
Many people are not aware of what goes in many of the dog foods on the market, it’s all of the garbage on an animal that usually gets thrown out that humans do not want to consume as well as roadkill, sick farm animals, and there has even been dog DNA found in some of the most popular dog foods lately. It’s a fact this is not made up as they have to do tests on pet foods.
Why would you feed that to your beloved pet and also cost yourself thousands of dollars because you are feeding that.
Flea and tick treatments vaccinations other medications also cause toxins to be absorbed into our pets systems, which also make them sick. Why do you think we have such arise in cancer and also allergies etc.?
So bone broth for undigested carrots in potty? Thanks Dan!
Hi, could you please let me know a good uk probiotic ?
Dog kibble is not nutrition
“Healthy kibble” haha what a joke.
Bone broth is so bad . The bone is the part of the animal that contains the illness 🙁
such a good video!
My dog has some swelling in the colon please suggest something natural for him 🙏 please I’ve tried all medicine

My mother’s dog has gone to 4 vets and specialist. Her dog throws up always at night or on a walk yellow bile. He poops yellow bile as well. We have changed the diet to an all natural diet and a food that cost a fortune and nothing helps. He is on probiotics and every vet says he has IBS and no cure. 2 and a half years of this with no hope.
One of the things I’m learning is never give your dog spicy food.
I feed my dog chiken and rice to my dogs they don’t Drink enough water hence Their scat doesn’t come out too well
What should I add so they have good boul movement
I finally took my 2 dogs off ALL dry kibble for good ❤❤❤❤❤
