We have an Anatolian Shepherd
English bull terrier…Not the best watchdog but a beast of a guard dog. Would give his life to protect the family without doubt. Went after my lawnmower that was ‘attacking’ me, grabbed it by the wheel and pulled it away…otherwise, he’s a low-key clown.

While walking him past an RV at a dog show, the owner had left the door open long enough to grab her keys. Her two German Shepherds jumped down and charged. The akita knocked the first one unconscious with his paws. The second one lay unconscious after being body slammed. Akitas have no odor. They wash themselves like cats. They are quiet, mostly making bear moans and rarely barking. Buy a puppy when a child is elementary school age and capable of learning to care for his new best friend. Total devotion!

At my house we run a very well trained, and highly skilled 85lb American Pit Bull for the upper floor, a not as well trained 140lb German shepherd for the basement, and the main floor is run by both of them, both dogs are great with kids, other than the German forgetting how big he is at times, however they will throw down to protect anybody in my family
