Do Pets Really Need Multivitamins and Added Minerals
Do Pets Really Need Multivitamins and Added Minerals
Is your pet getting all the vitamins and minerals he needs? Which vitamins and minerals should be given as supplements? In this informative video Gwen shares which vitamins and minerals our dogs need and where they come from when feeding a whole food type of diet. When supplements are necessary because the diet is lacking any of these, Gwen recommends we choose from three different brands which make both vitamin and mineral supplements. She cautions the use of any vitamin or mineral supplement which are made out of synthetics. Gwen goes on to share when to supplement for any deficiency and tells which foods to look to for these. Synthetic vitamin B-12, cyanocobalamin, is made from ground up toxic cow livers and activated sewage sludge. These cow livers are overloaded with steroids and antibiotics, and the pesticides the cow assimilates from eating GMO feed, and these cows are living in CAFO’s (confined animal feeding operations), where they often collapse and die slowly, while lying in their own “sludge” or fecal matter. Synthetic vitamin B also comes from coal tar and petro-chemicals, known to depress the central nervous system and cause respiratory ailments
Is ground egg shells safe to give to puppies?
If u make your own bone broth
Do u leave out the onion?
I looked at the recipe for pup loaf that I found online (I copied & pasted below)
I am wondering how much substituting I can do without needing to add supplements… for example,
Can I change the oil to sunflower oil? We always have golden hubbard or amber cup squash here, I assume these would be ok instead of butternut? can you change up the type of protein? chicken or pork instead?
3 pounds beef 90% lean
8 ounces beef heart
5 ounces beef liver
20 ounces chicken gizzards
3 cans sardines in water, minus the juice
6 ounces mussels (3 teaspoons kelp could replace the mussels for trace minerals)
2 teaspoons ground fresh ginger
5 eggs with shell
3 ounces red pepper
5 ounces mixed dark leafy greens (kale, chard, spinach)
4 ounces broccoli
6 ounces butternut squash
3 tablespoons flax seed oil
4 ounces cranberries
4 ounces Shiitake mushrooms
Bone meal or eggshell only covers calcium and there’s more minerals that your pup needs so how can a meal with eggshel or bone meal be complete?
