Positive reinforcement isn’t an approach. It’s part of an equation to get the desired behavior. Not an approach within itself.

Don’t listen to scammers like this idiot. Go with a trainer who actually has certifications and degrees in behavior analysis.

Thanks for a great explanation of positive reinforcement. We train this way but have trouble explaining to others that don’t see it the same way and this helped!

Our boxer gets into trouble if we leave him by himself for an hour or more…We have tried a Kennel, but he gets extremely worked up if put in one, will nearly tear the door off, and gets so worked up he soaks his kennel pad with saliva from drooling! what would you recommend?

Using the comparison of the ice cream truck music as positive association as well as taking a picture for exact timing are great โ€˜real worldโ€™ examples that help the bipeds truly โ€˜get itโ€™. Well put! Definitely with you on those shaming videos! ๐Ÿ˜ก

Dogs are animals with a short life span compared to humans. Dogs may one day leave us before their owners, but they love us dearly. Their love for their owners is never wavering. Even famous biologists can’t tell the truth about what dogs are thinking. But dogs love us more than they love themselves. This is a valuable lesson that dogs can teach us in our life with them.๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•

In south africa (more espsecially the rual areas) we don’t know what positive renforcement is, if dog do bad you either hit, shout or slit throat (the slit throat part happens in in very rual areas like kzn for example) i feel that in south africa dogs will never be treated properly. so ill just focus on my dog

    notice:
in more modern areas of south africa people only shout and hit but in rual areas like kzn dogs are tread MUCH worse then in the modern areas
