OK so I’ve tried crate training. My dog chewed the kennel and hurt himself on the kennel. He broke the door on the kennel. What do you suggest? I’ve got him puzzle toys, he’s destroyed them. Tried bitter spray. It only works on material. He still opens and chews solid things with the bitter spray on it. Please help.

My room mate got a 4 month old back in October. She could be a nightmare in the beginning but she had been good for the last month. I think this new behaviour may be tied to reduced walks because the temperature here gets too cold for her to be outside very long or at all some days. Shes going on 8 months old now and I’ve become frustrated after we discovered she had taken a chunk out of the carpet last week and then again somewhere else last night. I told my room mate I hate to say i told you so but she doesnt believe in crate training but I think shes now convinced and also have to figure out how to repair this as its a rental apartment.

  6. @katiestupp3938 on October 3, 2024 at 9:39 pm

Is there any other solutions? We’ve tried so many times to give treats and positive reinforcement with the crate. But he’ll smash his face off the crate and has cut up his face. He’s so anxious by himself and we’ve tried to ease him into being home alone but even an hour and he’s either destroyed something or hurt himself. We feel so stuck

My pup was doing great in the crate until I moved to this new place. Now that I leave him in a crate either he drops his food , water or pees or poop in the crate itself And if I dont leave him in the crate then in that case he chews the door and sometimes even furniture and destroys everything around. I need help pls guide thanks

The reason I like these videos so much in particular is that its not just good advice thats worked really well for the issues I’ve been having with training and getting them sorted, its that the videos actually have focus and GET TO THE POINT of what it is I’m trying to understand

Soooooooo many dog videos pad the run time into the 10-15 minute mark on the subject and its like, no offense, I’m not really trying to learn the entire unabridged history of four dogs that have been trained here for the past 15 years, I’m trying to get to the actual point of the video.

I really can’t express enough how much this channel has helped my baby be the best she can be, and be happy and communicative.

  11. @kylelevitt4578 on October 3, 2024 at 9:45 pm

So thanks for the tip and all, but this really only resolves them chewing on stuff while you are gone what about while you were in the other room am I supposed to keep this damn dog in the crate 24 seven except for bring it out to eat inmate. I’m trying to figure out how to get it to stop chewing on random household items like speaker, wires, charging cables, corners, carpets and rugs and now brand new couches. How do I get the dogs to not do that when there are plenty of different shoe bones and shoe toys for it not to mention I have two dogs by the way that both have chewing issues but the one that I’m having the serious issue with now. Is the Rottweiler that chewed up my couch last night, but the pitbull has been chewing up every little thing since I got him, but nothing that has costed me too much except except for a pair of sandals. And what is it with chewing on the shoes?

Hi I started crate training when my puppy since was little. But then in 5 moths of her age I stopped. Now she is almost 7 months and she started to destroy things, Is it okay to start again crate training or is it too late ? 🙁 Thank you!

I have three children including a 9 week old infant and a 9mo old GSD. I feel like I’m drowning and regret getting the dog. Her chewing is destroying everything. I’m not seeing her do it. I’m not when she does it. So I’m lost as to how to train her. If you pray, please do so for our family 😭

    Need help asap.
We have a pitbull and for a energetic companion we got her a Jack Russell staffy cross breed. She is now 1 year old and getting out of hand when me and my wife is at work. She started tearing up clothing, mattress, linen and shoes. All in a week’s time. Our place is to small and my grandmother is at home but in 5 min she destroyed everything. Our pitbull is extremely lazy the past few days and need advice.

  20. @matthewwalker6621 on October 3, 2024 at 9:57 pm

Our dog is destroying things out of spite and this is part of the solution

  22. @samuelcarlsson7728 on October 3, 2024 at 9:59 pm

Hey! What is your advice regarding crate training i Sweden? In Sweden crates are allowed but it is illegal to have a door on the gate. How can i make for instance a dog bed an equally safe and relaxing experience?

  23. @christiantaita108 on October 3, 2024 at 10:01 pm

Right , but they will be in there all day and all night mostly minus when im home .

I have a lab husky mix, I got him when he was 4 months now he is 9 months. I’ve done everything for crate training. In fact my crate I use is a big outside pen about 6×4 in the spare bedroom so it’s huge for him. First day we moved into the apartment he shredded 2 big spots in the carpet. Since then he’s ate everything including utensils, remotes, chairs and not stop gets in the trash no matter how much I kennel him for and smack his butt with whatever he ate a couple times. I don’t get why 5 months of trying to kennel train hasn’t worked a single bit. He can’t be left alone in the apartment for more than a minute. And he has absolutely no shame when he does something wrong. My other 2 know if they didn’t something wrong and do their scared crawl and avoid eye contact yanno.. but I’ll smack my labsky with a spoon he ate, put it in the trash and he goes right to the trash to try and get it. I’m lost and tired of the thousands and thousands of dollars of damages he’s caused, I’m about to give him up.

  28. @pauloliv7231 on October 3, 2024 at 10:06 pm

my puppy is almost a year now (so I wouldn’t say she’s a puppy anymore) and at night she and my other dog sleep in the living room. Often when we wake up we fins cables, shoes and the skirting board chewed up. I really don’t know if I should put her to sleep in a smaller place or even a big crate?? we are soon moving to a new house and we fear she’ll chew our new furniture. What should I do?

  29. @curtisc2581 on October 3, 2024 at 10:07 pm

Mine is fine with the crate, loves to go lay down in there on her own. Would stay in there all day while im at work with no problem. The older dog has passed and she crys and howls when i leave her home in the crate. How do we fix that?

  30. @Josh-uc3ci on October 3, 2024 at 10:09 pm

When we’re in the house an he goes in his crate his fine, soon as we left the house he chewed the metal off the crate escaped and destroyed everything. Any advice

I have a Rottweiler mastiff. She’s 8mo/old. She gets out of her crate and freaks out. No matter what I do she gets out and chews on everything.

  32. @IN2FPA on October 3, 2024 at 10:11 pm

Haha, crate training. Our 8 month old destroyed her crate

  33. @sharonalicea7998 on October 3, 2024 at 10:12 pm

@willathertoncaninetraining my red heeler IS crate trained. That said,, the instant she’s out she finds the opportunity to chew something. I can’t even place a dog bed or blanket for her in her crate. And if she manages to pull something into the kennel she will chew it up. She has been known to move the crate to reach blankets and such and eat them up. Help!

  34. @josephinecaruana3847 on October 3, 2024 at 10:13 pm

I been training my puppys if they do anything wrong i tell them if they don’t listen I tell them on your bed if they still don’t listen I say on your bed or in your bed
They run to there bed because they know in your bed means crate
This has taken a few months but it is worth it
Always command them by using a stronger tone in my voice use the word No
my dog is a large dog I have two both sisters
One excellent the other stubborn they can both reach the counter top in the kitchen to steel food the one girl is excellent the other is stubborn but I had her a lot later 5 months old so she had no rules where I have no prooblems with the other girl 12 weeks I had her
Worth every penny the cage and its peace of mind they even make their own bed with a blanket ❤ best of luck its hard work but will pay off handsomly and hes right
I also feed them in the cage so there meals or a treat that
Since I bought the cage there has been less damage
I will feed in the cage so they both have there own space and I am not just using it as a naughty cage

  35. @kellyAL on October 3, 2024 at 10:13 pm

My boy is a pug and they are very excitable he is 1 year old he has a cage but I gave him a toy and he ripped the stuffing out I don’t npknow what to do

  36. @PeaceOfMindPetCare2023 on October 3, 2024 at 10:15 pm

But how do you positively crate train?

  37. @leelanhua5015 on October 3, 2024 at 10:18 pm

We have a rescue dog that cannot be crate trained because she is extremely scared of confined places. We also can’t redirect her because she only chews furniture when we aren’t home. She does that even after exercise. We are so tired and don’t know what to do.

  38. @impish-love9713 on October 3, 2024 at 10:19 pm

  49. @beretta804 on October 3, 2024 at 10:28 pm
